通貨 ： notes and coins
"Come in number one, your time is up"
In global finance, too, America and the dollar are being shoved off their pedestal. The dollar is still preferred by central banks as a reserve currency, but it is no longer the favourite form of cash for households and firms.
There are now more euro notes and coins in circulation than there are dollars. In the international bond market, the euro has displaced the dollar as the main currency.

ユーロが、ドルを追い抜き、ファイナンシャル市場でも主要な “通貨 ＝ notes and coins” になってきたという記事です。この記事の始めには、アメリカ企業の代表である ゼネラル・モーターズが世界一位の座を日本のトヨタ自動車に明け渡すのは確実となったと書いてあり、企業の世界でもアメリカが弱くなっていることを述べています。
世界中の国の中央銀行が持っている準備通貨 （reserve currency）としては、 依然、ドルが多く、IMF（International Monetary Fund ＝ 国際通貨基金）のデータによりますと、 2006年の世界の外貨準備金のおよそ65％がドルで、26％がユーロ、円は、わずか3％でした。
