接続水域

NAHA, Okinawa Pref. －Chinese surveillance vessels entered the contiguous zone around the Japan-controlled Senkaku Islands in
the East China Sea for the seventh consecutive day Sunday, the coast guard reported.
Four Chinese vessels entered the zone, which lies just outside Japan's territorial waters around the disputed Senkakus, near
the islet of Kubajima, according to the coast guard.

海上保安庁のホームページによりますと、わが国の周りの海に関して、公海までの範囲を下記ように分けています。
- ・ 領海（territorial waters） ：
- 領海の基線からその外側１２海里
（約２２km）の線までの海域 - ・ 接続水域（contiguous zone） ：
- 領海の基線からその外側２４海里
（約４４km）の線までの海域 - ・ 排他的経済水域（exclusive economic zone） ：
- 領海の基線からその外側２００海里
（約３７０km）の線までの海域
接続水域とは、「沿岸国が、領土・領海の通関上、財政上、出入国管理上（密輸入や密入国）、衛生上（伝染病等）の法令違反の防止及び違反処罰のために 必要な規制をすることが認められた水域」と、説明されています。
